Comparison between two books ( Under The Black Flag/Buccaneers and Pirates)
There are some things between the books that do really pop out you either as something that's similar or something that's kind of different. Buccaneers and pirates talks about the tall tells of the legends of pirates, such as things like walking the plank as a form of punishment. That is about the only thing that really stood out as different. In the first couple of chapters of both books they did express a lot of similarities with one another. They talked about how pirates did dress all the same and that they did in fact went around and ransacked ships of their goods. Privateers, corsairs, and buccaneers were all described as the same as in both books present them. But some other differences that also stood out is that in buccaneers and pirates, Frank Stockton talks about pirates in a manner of heroes of some sort; that they were legends of adventuring and many people wanted to follow in their steps and go into the life of a pirate. As for the book under the black flag pirates are described as vile people who have no mercy upon others, they don't really "explore" the seas as told in the other book. All they really did was hijack ships and sell hostages for ransom.
